The Role of Energy Metabolism
Grand Challenges in Parkinson’s Disease brings together hundreds of scientists, clinicians and people with Parkinson’s to explore the latest Parkinson’s disease research. The theme for 2017 is The Role of Energy Metabolism, which will focus on cellular metabolism, specifically mitochondrial function and the regulation of autophagy, glucose metabolism, calcium homeostasis and oxidative stress. The 2017 symposium also will highlight clinical observations, as well as clinical trials involving repurposed drugs.
For the fourth year, VARI and The Cure Parkinson’s Trust will host Rallying to the Challenge, a meeting for people with Parkinson’s, advocates and caregivers that explores how the Parkinson’s community can impact and accelerate research.
